Position Available: Solar Heating Project Manager

American Solar, Inc. is an innovative solar air heating company located in Northern Virginia.

We specialize in developing and executing projects that use conventional metal roofing and siding as solar collector surfaces. We recover solar heated air from new and existing roofing and siding to service a variety of heating, dehumidification, and air conditioning needs. We do not install solar panels that generate electricity or contain hot water. We do reduce customer’s electricity, water heating, and space heating energy use by producing solar heated air, heated water, and heat for other uses.

We seek a solar heating project manager to handle all aspects of project development and execution for solar heating and solar heat recovery.

Applicants should have general knowledge of the broad spectrum of work in commercial construction, including:
An understanding of air heating systems, roofing and siding, building codes, and construction management.
Knowledge of general construction trades and responsibilities.
Ability to read, interpret, and create drawings using CAD programs.
Ability to manage diverse subcontractors to complete complex projects.
Knowledge of HVAC monitoring, testing, and controls.

Applicants should be capable of participating in all elements of the design and construction, including building surveys, system design, material ordering, onsite coordination of work and construction.

This is a key position in a small firm with high growth potential. You will work with the owner on a variety of projects both big and small and across the range of design build activities.
