Solar Heat Recovery

American Solar specializes in the recovery and productive use of solar heated air from walls, roofs, and ground mounted systems. In many cases, Solar Heat Recovery can be accomplished from existing roofing and siding panels, with no change in the outward appearance of the panel.

Where existing siding and roofing are used, the cost of the collector is eliminated and only the small cost of connecting the duct work, controls, and fans remains. These system often provide the lowest cost solar heating systems possible and provide the greatest return on your solar investment.

American Solar has particular expertise in making productive use of low to mid temperature solar heat that can be recovered from existing building. We have completed several projects which use air from temperatures as high as 240 to as low as 40 degrees F to heat even colder air, gasses, and fluids that entered buildings or were used in commercial processes. Building owners can expect energy savings in the range of $1-$4 per square foot of solar siding or roofing adapted for solar heat recovery.
