Solar Heating Technical
Information
American Solar is a solar air heating company. We produces solar-heated air cost effectively using conventional metal roofing and siding.
We use a variety of techniques to solar heat air. Our typical systems use a metal surface to capture heat. Sunlight hitting the metal surface heats the surface which, in turn, heats the air in contact with back of the surface. A small fan moves the air through the system for a broad array of uses in buildings, commercial facilities, and agricultural or industrial processes.
The illustration below, is indicative of operation of all the American Solar air heating systems, which simply heat air.
The
diagrams below explain the basic features and operation of American
Solar Inc.'s technology.
Airflow
across the Metal Roof or Metal
Tiles turns cool air into warm solar heated air.

Operation:
Cool air is drawn through the air inlet slots into the air flow
channels. The solar heated metal shingles heat the air
as it moves across the roof. The heated air is drawn through the
air outlet slots into the air distribution system.

air under the roof to direct the heated air into the building. The
roof contains the heat, even in cold and windy conditions, ensuring
high temperature solar heated air is collected.
